The Nerve Center (aka Where the Magic Happens… or Doesn't)
The text editor's got this ginormous text box where you can type out whatever annotation nonsense your heart desires. Just go wild in there & type what you want to say. Your text will keep showin' up in the song viewer, but fair warnin'—it won't break to a new line unless you actually make one happen. Once you're done messin' around, tap the Done button chillin' in the upper-right corner to lock in your changes & close this whole thing so you can see your masterpiece. If you're havin' buyer's remorse & wanna bail, tap Cancel up in the upper-left. Bail on a brand new annotation? Poof—it's gone forever.
Deletin'
Tap the trash can icon & it'll nuke your text after makin' sure you actually meant to do that. Seriously, this is permanent. You can't take it back, homie.
Stylin' It Out
Tap the sliders icon & boom—the Text Style Menu pops open so you can make your annotation look however you want. Get creative or whatever.
Make It Do Stuff
You can set up your text annotation to actually do things. But heads up—if you go wild with actions, it might get weird when you're tryna interact with it. Like, if you assign a double-tap action, good luck editin' it the normal way. No worries tho—just use two fingers (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) to pull up a context menu & edit it the sneaky way.
Lock It Down
By default, you can tap & drag annotations around like they owe you money, or use two fingers to resize & rotate 'em. Flip this lock on & your annotation becomes a statue—can't move it, can't resize it, can't rotate it, gestured or otherwise. You can toggle this lock on & off right there in the editor.
Look How Pretty
You can also set what your text annotations look like by default in Settings » Menu Settings » Annotations » Text.
Note: If you're squintin' at this on a teeny device like an iPhone or iPod touch, you might wanna close the keyboard to see the toolbar at the bottom. Just tap the menubar at the top & the keyboard will disappear like magic.
