Apps can have settings that are only accessible through the Settings app on your device. (Yeah, we know it's annoying. Apple's rules, not ours.) This contains switches for changing permissions that you may have granted or declined, plus settings that are available to literally everyone for when things go all kablooey. Here's what settings are currently available in the Settings app of iOS/iPadOS:
Gimme Access
This section is automatically set with prompts that pop up in the app when specific resources are requested. You can change the settings here after the initial prompt is displayed. (Shocking, we know.)
- Bluetooth determines if OnSong can access Bluetooth devices like wireless foot pedals. (AKA: your fancy wireless thingy.)
- Local Network determines if OnSong can use the local network. This is used by OnSong Connect & OnSong Console. (The stuff that makes you feel like a tech wizard.)
- Camera determines if OnSong can access the device's cameras. This is used by live backgrounds in lyrics projection & the document scanner. (We wanna peek at your stuff, obvi.)
- Media & Apple Music determines if OnSong can access your Apple Music media library for backing tracks. (Translation: "Can we steal your bangers?")
- Siri & Search allows you to customize search settings that integrate OnSong into Siri & Spotlight. (Make Siri actually useful for once.)
- Background App Refresh determines if OnSong can retrieve content from services in the background. (We're gonna keep workin' even when you're not lookin'.)
- Document Storage lets you choose how data in OnSong is stored. (Pick your poison: cloud or device.)
Debug (aka "Help, We Broke It")
This section contains switches that can be enabled for troubleshooting issues in OnSong. (When things get real.)
- Clear Temporary Files will force any temporary files that are created to be flushed when the app is next loaded. (We'll clean up our mess. Eventually.)
- Forget Last Song can be used if a song caused OnSong to shut down. (Yeah, that song. We remember it, which is why we keep crashing. Real mature.) Turn this on to clear OnSong's knowledge of what song it should automatically load. (Amnesia mode: activated.)
- Reset Database will cause the database to be backed up to file sharing & then purged. (We're gonna nuke it from orbit & give you a copy first. You're welcome.) This can be handy if there are issues loading OnSong & you need to send your library to support staff for diagnosis. (Good luck explaining what you did.)
- Reset Settings will clear all settings in OnSong & reload the user interface when you open the app. (Congrats, you're starting over. Again.)
- Retrieve Help File will determine if an offline-viewable help file is retrieved from OnSong. (So you can read our docs without the internet. Revolutionary, right?)
