Yoink from Dropbox

It's ZOMG-easy to yoink your song files from Dropbox. Dropbox is literally the path of least resistance for creatin', editin', & storin' your files on a computer, then pretendin' to access 'em on your mobile device or whatever else you dragged out of your junk drawer. Tap the Dropbox option in the Throw Some Songs At It screen & start diggin' through your Dropbox like you're searchin' for that one hoodie.

OK Fine, Let Us In

Yeah, OnSong's gonna need your permission to peek at your Dropbox the first time you try this. It'll pop open some fancy web-based sign-in screen right inside OnSong (we're so smart, right?). Once you link your account, you can keep usin' Dropbox without signin' in again… unless your account gets all weird & unlinks itself for reasons we won't explain.

You can always bail out of Dropbox whenever by tappin' the sign-out button at the bottom. Freedom!

Diggin' Through Stuff

Once you're signed in, you can browse your entire Dropbox like it's your messy closet. Tap folders to dig deeper & find more files.

Searchin' Like You Actually Know What You're Lookin' For

Tap the search bar at the top of the menu & start huntin' through visible files & folders by name. Type somethin' & watch results pop up that start with your query, OR tap the "Search" button on your keyboard to find files & folders that have your search term hidden somewhere in the filename. (You're welcome.)

Pickin' Your Stuff

Tap files to check & uncheck 'em for import. Or just use the "Select All" & "Deselect All" buttons at the bottom to go nuclear on the entire folder. Pro tip: If you accidentally select a backup file, OnSong will hit you with a "OMG you're about to overwrite EVERYTHING" warning before it does the thing. If you confirm anyway, only the backup imports & your library gets restored. You're welcome for that second chance.

The Actual Import Thing

Once you've got some files checked, tap the Import button in the upper right corner & watch the magic happen. If you picked a file that's already been imported, OnSong will ask you what you wanna do about this duplicate nonsense. While it's importin', the progress bar shows up as a percentage in the upper right corner like we're countin' down to somethin' important. When it's done, you're booted back to the All Songs screen. Thrilling.

Sortin' (For Nerds)

Change how the files & folders are sorted to make pickin' 'em less of a headache. Tap the sort icon in the lower left corner & pick one of these life-changin' options:

• Name sorts files & folders by their actual name in alphabetic order (groundbreaking, we know).
• Size puts the chunky files at the top so you can see what's actually takin' up space.
• Modified shows the files you messed with most recently at the top (because you probably forgot what you changed).

Pro move: Tap the same sort option twice & it reverses. Mind = blown.

Extra Stuff You Can Do (Context Menu)

Tap & hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) on a file or folder if you're feelin' spicy & wanna do more stuff.

• Delete nukes the file or folder. Bye Felicia.
• Rename lets you rename it while keepin' the extension so it doesn't get all broken & sad.

If you signed into the wrong Dropbox account or you're paranoid about security (fair), tap the door icon in the lower right corner. This kicks OnSong out of Dropbox & sends you back to the Throw Some Songs At It screen. Clean break. No hard feelings.
