Lemme Steal Your Files (The Legal Way)

File sharin' is basically the bleepin' way to yeet files onto your device when you're willin' to plug it into a computer with that USB cable we all pretend to know how to use. If you're fancy & runnin' a Mac on some newfangled macOS, boom — your iOS/iPadOS device shows up in Finder like magic. Windows? Older Mac? LOL, iTunes it is, peeps. Srsly.

Dump Files Here

Okay so step one: you gotta throw files at your device usin' iTunes file sharin'. Yeah, iTunes. That ancient app that still exists. Fire it up on your Mac or Windows machine & let's get bloopin'.

Huntin' & Peckin'

Tap that search bar at the tippy-top of the list to go full detective mode on your files & folders. Start typin' & watch the magic happen — or tap the "Search" button on your keyboard if you're feelin' extra. It'll find literally anything with those words in it. You're welcome.

Pickin' & Choosin'

Tap files to check 'em off like you're actually organized (spoiler: you ain't). Use the Select All & Deselect All buttons down at the bottom if you wanna just... select everything. Or nothin'. We don't judge. Oh, & if you try to import a backup file? OnSong's gonna yell at you & warn that you're about to nuke your whole library. Oopsie. If you're cool with it, boom — library restored & you're back to square one.

Let's Import This Thing

Got files checked? Tap the Import button in the top right & watch the party happen. If you're tryna import somethin' you already imported, OnSong's gonna ask you to pick what to do with this duplicate mess. When it's done, you're bounced back to All Songs where you pretend you know what you're doin'.

The Ol' Shuffle & Sort

Wanna rearrange these files so pickin' 'em is less painful? Tap the sort icon down in the bottom left & behold your OPTIONS:

• Name sorts files & folders A to Z like a normal person.
• Size puts the chunky bois at the top.
• Created puts the shiny new files you just made at the top.
• Modified puts the ones you touched most recently at the top.

Tap that sort method twice & it flips backwards. Ascending? Descending? You're in control now, baby.

Burnin' It All Down

Wanna obliterate a file? Swipe that bad boy right to left & BAM — a Delete button appears. Press it & poof. File's gone forever. No takebacks.

The Menu That Does Stuff

Tap & hold (iOS/iPadOS) or right-click (macOS) on a file or folder & feast your eyes on MORE OPTIONS:

• Delete nukes the file or folder you picked.
• Rename lets you give it a new name while keepin' the extension (you know, so it still works).
• Preview shows you whatcha got before committin' to anything.
• More... opens up the activities menu where you can do literally other stuff with it.

The Hunt

Files you import & export live in the Documents folder of the app. On iOS & iPadOS, just plug that bad boy into your computer with the USB cable & you're in bizness. On macOS? Finder window, baby — it shows up in the sidebar like it owns the place. It does. If you're runnin' OnSong on a Mac, tap that lil' icon in the bottom right & BAM — folder opens in Finder. You're a wizard now, Harry.
